The Christmas season has just barely begun, and the war on Christmas is already under way!Major department stores are again boycotting the very word "Christmas" in their advertising. Teachers at public schools worry whether it is okay to display Christmas decorations, even if they call them " Holiday " decorations in their classrooms.
Towns and cities will debate whether to set up Nativity Scenes, and other decorations, all because someone with an agenda against Christianity wants to shut them down, because it may offend someone, like themselves. You know it is just against Christianity because they do not try to shut down other religions on their sacred days.
Christmas is not just about a date on the calendar, or a time to get something from someone. It is a time for celebrating the coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus of Nazareth, to this earth. With the sole reason of bringing the gentile people of the earth into the Kingdom of Heaven.
Jesus, came to give us the good news, the gospel, that He would pay the price for our sins, the things we do against God the Father. Jesus introduced us to the age of Grace, when He died upon the cross of Calvary! Grace, God doing something for you that you could never do for yourself.
Christmas brings us hope! Hope for a better tomorrow, because we think about others, and what they are going through. The Salvation Army, brings joy to thousands of children through monies collected with their Kettles. The Marines, through Toys for Tots, does the same, as does the Catholic Charities, and Operation Christmas Child, the Franklin Graham shoe box ministry for children around the world, and many hundreds of other groups. All in the name of Christmas.
More giving to people you don't know gets done around Christmas than any other time of year!
